ABOUT FLU CAMP
The concept of Flu Camp is simple. Retroscreen Virology would have conducted several clinical trials each year, many of which required volunteers to stay in a quarantine unit. The staff at Retroscreen Virology would affectionately refer to these studies as Flu Camp.
Aim of Study The aim of these clinical trials is to develop new or better drugs or vaccines to fight respiratory virus infections and hopefully save lives. When dealing with colds, flu and other respiratory viruses it is necessary to work inside a quarantine unit. The Flu Camp quarantine unit is usually situated in new student accommodation or a hotel.
We pride ourselves on the facilities we provide. Volunteers can expect a very comfortable room, sharing with only one other volunteer en suite bathroom wireless internet access three meals a day TV's and play station!
Our studies are conducted to the highest standards and under International Conference on Harmonisation Good Clinical Practice (ICH GCP) guidelines - an International ethical and scientific quality standard for clinical trials.
Inclusion Criteria For inclusion into our database
Male only
You must be in good health and over 18 years old.
After completing our online form, you will be contacted by a member of our team, who will ask you a few questions.
You will be asked to come to the clinic for a blood test to see if you have suffered from a respiratory virus recently, including colds and flu, as this will exclude you from our studies.

Duration Our studies require visits to our clinics. Others also require you to stay in comfortable facilities for up to 15 days.
Reimbursement You will be compensated for your time and expenses if you qualify for entry, and complete one of our studies.
There is no compensation for inclusion into our database.
Other Info Approximately 10 mL of blood will be drawn for influenza, rhinovirus or respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) antibody testing using the relevant assay experiment against these viruses.
